Brighton->> MAY 23RD
RACE 1>The vote goes to BIG TIME MAYBE, who has bagged three C&D handicaps from eight visits to this course and looked on good terms with himself when striking on the all-weather recently. Georgia Madeleine is appealing back at the scene of her breakthrough success last summer and is next on the list ahead of I’m Mable
RACE 2>ALL DUNN found further improvement when runner-up at Southwell earlier this month and remains feasibly treated. He gets the nod. White Mist and Freetodream can also make their presence felt.
RACE 3>RIVER WHARFE’s profile is somewhat patchy but he wasn’t beaten far at Lingfield last time and could be worth siding with back on turf with Tom Marquand booked. If Amathus breaks smartly and is able to build on his reappearance spin over this C&D 3 weeks ago, he will be a threat, while Diamond Cottage and Fieldsman are others worthy of mention in an open-looking race.
RACE 4>AL AZHAR is taken to capitalise on the drop in grade having run well in a 0-80 in first-time blinkers (retained here) at Salisbury last time. Seattle King and D Day Odette head the opposition in a tightly-knit handicap.
RACE 5>BISHOP’S CROWN sets a clear standard and should prove hard to beat. Kehlani showed some ability at a huge price in a Kempton novice back in December and can improve.
RACE 6>Preference is for MICKS DREAM, who put in a good shift when runner-up over 7f here last time and both the return to this trip and the addition of cheekpieces should help. Mostawaa looks dangerous on the back of a solid recent effort at Hamilton and he is second choice ahead of Nasim.
RACE 7>RIVAS ROB ROY ran well here off the same mark earlier this month and gets the nod in a tricky-looking finale. Cap d’Antibes and Compere head the list of dangers.

Wolverhampton >> MAY 23RD
RACE 1>ricky stuff, with CUBAN GREY fancied to resume winning ways after another good run at Brighton. Unlimited Data scored in a nursery when last seen and can be competitive again. Victors Dream is a potential improver now handicapping for Marco Botti.
RACE 2>APACHE STAR shaped well at Southwell and looks the way to go. You’re Cool can never be discounted around here, while Caribbean Sunset has wins in him if standing up to more racing.
RACE 3>There is more to come from Chelmsford winner OWL ISLAND and he can make it 2-2. Story of Peace could make it a 1-2 for the stable. Island Luck is an interesting newcomer.
RACE 4>WRITTEN BROADCAST has held his form pretty well since scoring over C&D in March, so Ollie Pears’ grey is fancied to notch a third success of the year at the expense of Pop Favorite, who is a free-going sort but should appreciate this drop back to 7f. Seas of Elzaam and Flagman are another couple who could well be in the shake-up, too.
RACE 5>BORN RULER appeals as one who should have more to offer now handicapping over further and can add to his 7f course novice success at the start of the year. Dhariye is another last-time-out winner who should go on to better things in handicaps and is feared most ahead of the William Buick-ridden No Barrier. Hat Toss also merits serious respect.
RACE 6>C&D winner H KEY LAILS returned to form when runner-up at Wetherby last week and can race off the same mark here. He can go one better. Potential improvers Dame Laura Knight and Panning For Gold are feared most.
RACE 7>This represents a good opportunity for PHILOS to open his account. He was unlucky not to do so at Beverley last week and the booking of William Buick adds to his appeal. Optik failed to measure up to market expectations on his handicap debut at Windsor but could be about to take a step forward now upped in trip. Best of the rest is Bailar Contigo, who produced her best effort yet over 9.5f here last time and is also likely to benefit from this stiffer test.

MAY 16 2023 Sandown Flora of Bermuda , Breeze up Sale, Dam won on a switchback track and was 2nd on Debut over 5f at this very track late April foal which can be offset by the Breeze experience just praying she’s not small and has a big stride pattern at the Breeze that’s Important if she’s small then forget the bet, Boann is a cheap Blue Point and Looks far to skinny in prices but must have a chance stable fancy though> Say Hello and Both Miss Show Off both really took my eye on Bloods, very nice both Showcasing’s and with any Luck should be close to winning this.. @FlatRacingGuruUK #Bloodbriefs

2YOS MAY 16 2023 –Sherrifs call is interesting has decent Bloods by Soldiers call out of a pretty useful bottom page of winners and winning producers some speed but maybe 6f is needed and a run this Trainer not known for Debut, but they do sometimes suprise us, Possibly being kept to be a really good handicapper as a Late autumn runner and a 3yo ?

Crack the Code could be Useful Later, is related to 5 winners on the second bottom page and its grandmother won on debut Gelded which is a good sign they may be positive from the getgo.

Bombay Bazar with natural Improvement should run to 89 here that’s good enough for at least 3rd place, However if a couple of others mentioned above are ready there bloods could beat that mark but is the obvious fav, i think try this one on its 3rd run at better odds like his Mother @FlatRacingGuruUK #Bloodbriefs

HAMILTON MAY 14
RACE 1>MOONSTONE BOY took a significant step forward from his debut when pulling well clear with a promising newcomer at Musselburgh a fortnight ago. With further improvement on the cards, Iain Jardine’s charge can go a place better. Alice Haynes has made a good start to 2023 with her juveniles and Golden Arrow is put forward as the main danger ahead of fellow newcomer Golden Mind before market clues.
RACE 2>The strength behind MOUNTAIN WARRIOR in the betting on his last 2 novice runs suggests he’s well regarded by the Ed Bethell stable and he can make a successful switch to handicap company. Quintus Arrius and Mereside Diva are feared most after near misses on their recent handicap debuts.

RACE 3> A highly competitive handicap with NIGWA fancied to take another step forward and come out on top. She made an encouraging comeback at Newcastle and likely has more to offer for a yard enjoying a good season. Zarabanda is a big player on her handicap debut, while My Little Queens and Crown Princess are a couple of the other more interesting ones.
RACE 4>A very tricky event in which the tentative choice goes to PISANELLO who usually runs his race and should have the circumstances to suit his patient style. On A Session and Shaladar are two of several others with feasible claim
RACE 5>With headgear left off, JORDAN ELECTRICS gained a first success at 5f since he was a 2-y-o when justifying strong support at Ayr 10 days ago and he can follow up on only his third start for his current yard. Heading the list of dangers is Spoof who arrives bidding for a hat-trick, while Huddle Up and The Thin Blue Line also merit consideration.
RACE 6>A highly-competitive staying handicap, in which last year’s runner-up CAPTAIN HADDOCK can go one better after an encouraging return at Doncaster. He has a previous C&D win to his name and still remains well treated on last season’s best form, so gets the nod ahead of recent Musselburgh 1-2 Fairmac and Ravenscraig Castle in a race where cases can be made for most.
RACE 7>A tightly-knit handicap with CROESO CYMRAEG just about the most persuasive option with this track fancied to suit the James-Evans trained veteran. Aqwaam and Faylaq arrive on the back of excellent runner-up efforts and are just a couple of potential threats.
RACE 8>

LEICESTER MAY 13
RACE 1>PONGA couldn’t quite match his debut form when third at Beverley earlier this month but looks the likeliest scorer here. Mullins Beach is the obvious danger on form, whilst Fengari may be the pick of the newcomers.
RACE 2>A decidedly trappy seller with CELESTIAL FORCE receiving the tentative vote in the hope he’s ready to roll after a lengthy absence. Free Chakarte and Still Standing may emerge as the chief threats.
RACE 3>DANZART has been given a chance by the handicapper and returned to form when runner-up over C&D a fortnight ago. He can go one better here. Autumn Angel and Autumn Flight look the likeliest dangers.
RACE 4>LOWTON made an excellent start under a considerate ride when third at Doncaster first time out and, unless Green Go proves to be an above-average newcomer, he should be up to scoring at the second attempt. Ascari is also a player despite looking a little wayward last time.
RACE 5>PARISIAC took a step back in the right direction when third on his penultimate start at Thirsk and, having again ran well when fourth at Salisbury since, he gets the narrow vote to confirm himself on a handy mark. Broken Spear has bounced back to form also in recent weeks and is feared, with Blind Beggar another to consider in an open-looking contest.
RACE 6>LBESEEINGYER needed to up her game considerably to make it four in a row at Doncaster on reappearance and she’s well worth chancing to keep up her winning sequence. Eponina is respected given her course record and there’s reason to think Star Sound can improve now switched to handicaps.
RACE 7>BURABACK is unexposed for his current stable and did very well to get third at Lingfield recently considering he completely blew the start, so he gets the nod ahead of Big Bear Hug, who should bounce back to form returning to a more suitable trip. Distinction is also considered.
International Handicapper >>>>>@FlatracinGuruUK > Stefano Carlos Notti
NOTTINGHAM MAY 13
RACE 1>LUNAR JET handles soft ground really well so this likeable C&D scorer can quickly resume winning ways eased 1 lb for a good Doncaster fourth last time. At Liberty rates a big threat though if, as expected, building on an encouraging reappearance sixth at Bath, while in-form Masqool is another who needs factoring into an open handicap.
RACE 2>ONEFORSUE ended last season with a near-miss in a soft-ground Redcar nursery and also went close on return/debut for new yard over 5f at Newcastle at the end of March. She will benefit from this step back up in trip and is taken to see off Cue’s Beau, who has hit the crossbar on each of her 3 starts in maiden/novice company on the AW and will be a big threat if coping with conditions now switched to turf. Montelusa will need to raise her game if she’s to trouble the aforementioned duo.
RACE 3>The vote goes to LUMACHO who made a solid reappearance over 6f at Southwell last month and will be at home back at 5f having won 3 times over the trip last year. Fortunate Star showed improved form when runner-up at Catterick last time and is second choice ahead of All In The Hips.
RACE 4>Several possibilities in this sprint. LIPSINK ran well on his Windsor reappearance last month and is narrowly preferred to Recon Mission and Fantasy Master.
RACE 5>ON THE RIVER didn’t appear to have a great deal in hand when following up his Pontefract success at Beverley 12 days ago, but he arguably went for home a bit earlier than ideal and a 3 lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from completing the hat-trick. An on-song Dandy Maestro would be a threat off this mark and Strongbowe shouldn’t be far away if backing up his latest effort, for all that faster ground would be ideal.
RACE 6>Roger Varian’s Siyouni filly AMAZING has improved with each of her three runs and is fancied to open her account now she steps into handicap company for the first time. Ed Walker’s daughter of Sir Percy Khinjani also brings some potential and is feared most ahead of in-form maiden Edmund Ironside and the returning Starnberg.
RACE 7>Several to consider in this competitive handicap. The pick of them could be RICK BLAINE, who has got back on track since undergoing a wind op and he was beaten a whisker when dead-heating for second off this mark at Windsor last month. Stepping back up in trip here will be in his favour. Casa Loupi’s wellbeing has to be taken on trust following a lengthy absence but he’s interesting all the same and is feared most ahead of Fen Tiger and Tigerten

LINGFIELD MAY 13
RACE 1>LEGAL REFORM is in the form of his life and this uncomplicated sort is well drawn to attack, so the hat-trick may well be forthcoming. Gold Medal also arrives on a roll, with better expected from Sir Winston this time.
RACE 2>SACRED holds the edge on form and goes very well fresh too so she looks the way to go in this Group 3. Andrew Balding has his string in excellent nick so his Lennox heroine Sandrine rates a big threat. Queen Aminatu, a stablemate of the selection, appeals as the pick of the remainder for place purposes ahead of White Moonlight.
RACE 3>Aidan O’Brien has already mopped up one Oaks trial this week and looks good for another courtesy of BE HAPPY. The main threat may come from Charlie Appleby pair Eternal Hope, the mount of William Buick, and Sunset Poin
RACE 4>ILITARY ORDER is bred to be classy and, having doubled his tally in ready fashion at Newbury recently, he gets the nod ahead of the progressive Circle of Fire, who has actually achieved a bit more in form terms than the selection. Inquiring Minds is an intriguing runner and there’s a case to be made for a few others.
RACE 5>Plenty in with a squeak but 6-time C&D winner SWISS PRIDE is selected to add another victory to his tally back down in grade with the booking of William Buick catching the eye. The Defiant has had a breathing operation since his runner-up effort at Brighton 3 weeks ago so Daniel Steele’s charge may emerge as the main danger, ahead of Navy Drums and the consistent Inaam.
RACE 6>WAGGA WAGGA was a dual winner last season and is best excused his odds-on defeat in a messy race at Newbury when last seen. He’s fancied to resume his improvement, though the consistent trio of Wholeofthemoon, Citizen General and God of Thunder should all be capable of giving him something to think about.
RACE 7>CHAGALL has been better than the result on a few occasions since his 1m course win in March and can get his head back in front with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle now. No Such Luck was well held on his turf debut last time but had been in good nick on AW prior to that and is second choice ahead of Wallaroo.

HAYDOCK MAY 13
RACE 1>THANKSFORTHEHELP was sent off favourite for the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham and, while he couldn’t quite justify that support (better than result), he was impressive back in novice company at Southwell since and is well worth another chance to prove himself ahead of his mark. Nicky Henderson-trained pair Mill Green and Bold Endeavour should give the selection plenty to think about and there are several others for whom a case could be made.
RACE 2>FLORIDA was really finding his feet last backend and is fancied to make a winning return off an attractive-looking mark on his first venture into handicap company. Feel The Need is feared most on the back of an excellent Beverley second, although Ripon scorer James McHenry and handicap debutants Dornoch Castle and Arkendale need factoring in too.
RACE 3>Four really smart sprinters in a good conditions race. CREATIVE FORCE meets Commanche Falls on 4 lb better terms than when a place behind him at Newmarket last month and is selected to turn the tables now.
RACE 4>The one who appeals most is smart Flat performer BRENTFORD HOPE, who is going the right way over hurdles for his new yard and has the qualities to raise his game further now pitched into a stronger contest. Byker and Black Poppy head the opposition in another competitive renewal of this long-established event.
RACE 5>On the back of a pleasing return ANGEL BLEU again shaped better than the bare result suggests in France 6 weeks ago and he could be worth siding with. Escobar has been a tremendous servant to connections and is feared along with the steadily-progressive 4-y-o Al Mubhir.
RACE 6>None of these can be safely discounted but, that said, none look more solid than INTERCESSOR, who proved a revelation in the second half of last season and looks set for another productive campaign judged on his Brighton second 3 weeks ago. Star Zinc has yet to taste success but he’s pretty consistent and is feared most on debut for new yard with Tom Marquand booked. Metabolt and recent winner Liangel Hope are also firmly in calculations.
RACE 7>Cases can be made for a few but being closely related dual Champion Hurdler Hurricane Fly, SCANDISK PARK can make a winning start under Rules having been placed on both starts in points over the winter. Flying Fortune and I Love My Baie are both last-time-out winners and they can chase home Nicky Henderson’s charge in that order, while market support for La Perle Est Belle would put a slightly different slant on things.
RACE 8>There should be more to come from ARTISAN DANCER over middle distances and he is fancied to land the finale. Lordship and Fantizzy can also make their presence felt.
RACE 9>
International Handicapper >>>>>TIMEFORM
ASCOT MAY 13
RACE 1>High Fibre -Savvy Knight -Sir Rumi= x 6 fcasts = 6 bets
RACE 2> Several of these remain with potential, most notably TIMELESS MELODY, who left the impression that stepping back up to this trip would be in her favour when making a successful start for this yard over 7f at Leicester. She has been handed a potentially handy mark for this handicap debut and gets the nod ahead of promising Godolphin filly Mountain Song. Julia Augusta is of interest despite returning from 10 months off, while Beccara Rose is worth a second look now switched to handicap company. others include Bellhaven
RACE 3>The George Boughey stable looks to hold a strong hand courtesy of BARADAR and Totally Charming, with the former taken to build on his good reappearance third in the Lincoln now returned to what is probably his optimum trip. River Nymph and Fresh have produced several good efforts in top-end handicaps here and are likely to be in the shake-up, while Kingdom Come will be a big threat to all if translating his smart AW form to turf. Spy catcher. Varofino, Orbaan , Admiral D, all have EW Chances
RACE 4>Charlie Appleby landed this contest with a promising type 12 months ago and OCEAN RUNNER could be the latest one off the conveyor belt to strut his stuff. His sales price rose markedly at the Breeze Ups so he looks most interesting of the newcomers before market clues. Golden Arrow represents a yard going well with its 2-y-os and must be respected, while Western is another likely type on paper.
RACE 5>Having been gelded over the winter, WESTERTON matched the pick of his form as a juvenile when runner-up to a potentially smart sort on return/handicap debut at Doncaster 2 weeks ago (nicely clear of remainder). He gets the nod to come out on top from a 1 lb higher mark, with Shahbaz, who also shaped encouragingly on his return feared most. King’s Code and Maasai Mara complete the shortlist.
RACE 6>CHIPS AND RICE finished to good effect as she made a winning debut for James Fanshawe and, with more to come, she’s marginally preferred to Peace of Mine, who arrives on the back of a successful handicap debut at Nottingham. Lady Eros also merits consideration.
RACE 7>Plenty with claims here, including COOPERATION, who bagged a Thirsk handicap on similar ground last week and remains feasibly treated on old form. Coco Bear arrives in the form of his life and is feared most, whilst last year’s winner Mister Bluebird must also enter calculations
International Handicapper >>>>>TIMEFORM
RIPON MAY 12
RACE 1>Patasola -Lady Dandelion- BazBall-perm x3
RACE 2>Tough to split these but TALHA has finished runner-up on each of his 3 outings so far and with further improvement not ruled out this looks a good opportunity for Richard Fahey’s charge to go a place better. Tawalla was much improved from debut despite still looking a work in progress so he can give the selection most to think about, ahead of Harriet’s Angel.
RACE 3>REIGNING PROFIT came up short in a Class 2 race at Goodwood last week but will prove a tough nut to crack back in calmer waters here. Indeed, Ruth Carr’s charge was a decisive winner of back-to-back Pontefract handicaps prior to that and is taken to exploit this favourable mark (due to go up 6 lb). A line can be drawn through John Kirkup’s reappearance spin and he could be the one for the forecast. Manila Scouse has been absent for 18 months but is worth a second look all the same.
RACE 4> Cases can be made for several, but TURNER GIRL left her reappearance effort well behind at Catterick just over a fortnight ago so, provided she copes with this extra distance, Ed Dunlop’s filly is fancied to double her career tally. Glory And Honour opened his account for the year at Wolverhampton last Wednesday and he should be in the mix under a penalty, along with We’ll Go Again.
RACE 5>t’s been a while since COUNT D’ORSAY last got his head in front but this is a lower-grade handicap than those he is used to contesting, and there were positives to take from his latest effort at Beverley. He gets the nod ahead of Fortamour, who likes it here and looks dangerous on the back of an encouraging effort last time. Twelfth Knight is best of the rest.
RACE 6> BERTIE’S WISH is potentially well treated back on the Flat given his recent hurdling form and, with his stable very much among the winners of late, he appeals as the most persuasive option. Bollin Margaret endured a disappointing 2022 but has dropped to a handy mark as a result and caught the eye on her reappearance. Bushfire is still lightly-raced for Gemma Tutty and is another to consider dropping in grade.
RACE 7>rovided that conditions don’t prove to be an issue now switched to turf, ANNALEE LASS will take plenty of stopping. She lost little caste in defeat when runner-up at Wolverhampton last time and, with just half-a-dozen starts under her belt, she may have more to offer. Barrolo appeals as the type who will raise his game now moving up in trip for this handicap debut and he is preferred to Ribkana for forecast purposes.
RACE 8>

WOLVERHAMPTON
RACE 1>Mr Rumbalicious, who isn’t taken lightly in his hat-trick bid, while All About Alice can also give another good account.
RACE 2>ESTATE ran to a fairly useful level when runner-up twice at 2 yrs and, having finished third on his reappearance 10 days ago, he could be ready to open his account this time around. Tatterstall also filled the runner-up spot on two occasions last year and is feared most having been gelded ahead of his return, with Bright completing the shortlist
RACE 3>MOUNTAIN LAKE may have found a very good opening on debut. Love Is A Rose and Sophia’s Starlight are interesting on their return.
RACE 4>Having had excuses for her previous run, WALEYFA quickly got back on track returned to all-weather when winning readily at Chelmsford 8 days ago and she can follow up under a penalty. Precedent showed encouragement on his seasonal/stable debut last time and can be the one to give the selection most to think about, ahead of Global Tycoon.
RACE 5>WEDGEWOOD appears to be thriving and this is a thin race, so she’s clearly the one to beat. Handicap debutant Rewilding is interesting, while Zebadaay could show more.
RACE 6>One of a trio of last-time-out winners, BLUE YONDER improved when bolting up at Beverley 11 days ago and he gets the nod to come out on top again back on all weather. Indication Rocket may emerge as the chief threat, ahead of Man Made of Smoke
RACE 7>GUNNERSIDE has won two of his last three and is still well in on old form, so he gets the nod over fellow last-time-out scorers Chifa and Weloof.

NOTTINGHAM MAY 12
RACE 1>Serried Ranks is superbly Bred and One for Royal Ascot for the King Hopefully>>>Foaled March 6. Land Force colt. Dam, 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 1m, half-sister to useful 6f winner Instalment. the Fav Desert Master>> has had the form Boosted but what type of race was that at Chester? Serried if anywhere near prepped 80% should easily win here for me just looks a class above these despite the winning form line @FlatRacingGuruUK BloodBrief

RACE 2>REGAL FANFARE showed improved form despite still seeming rough around the edges when runner-up at Lingfield 16 days ago and, with a pedigree to think she’ll be even better over this 1f longer trip, she’s a confident choice to get off the mark. Mysterious Love seemed unsuited by the track on her return at Newmarket and is better judged on her previous form in France. Decipher is a strong-looking filly who should have learnt from her debut and could have a say in proceedings, too.
RACE 3>LITTLE JO had a lot in hand at Redcar last week so a 4 lb penalty seems unlikely to stop him if showing up here in similar form. Bo Taifan took a step forward when second at Chelmsford last week and may provide a bigger threat than She’s Got Bottle, who enjoyed the run of the race when successful at Pontefract last Wednesday.
RACE 4>An interesting novice. PERFUSE had his Pontefract form boosted when the third won at Newcastle the other day so he gets the vote but Rogue Sea was impressive on his Yarmouth debut and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while Carlton couldn’t cope with bottomless ground at Leicester last time but had shown promise on his Doncaster debut prior to that.
RACE 5>IATO’S ANGEL improved again when second at Musselburgh (pair clear) 12 days ago and, turned out from the same mark, he looks a long way ahead of the game. Marmara Star and Tiamat may do battle for second
RACE 6>COVERDALE tipped last day>. and Eyetrap boast similar profiles in that they both left their 2-y-o form well behind tackling a new trip when successful recently. Separating them isn’t easy but the former overcame a poor track position at Redcar, so he narrowly shades the vote.
RACE 7>STAR OF ARIA was a pretty big eye-catcher when runner-up under a hands-and-heels ride and he’s fancied to reverse the placings with Dandy Spirit on 5 lb better terms. Close Quarters looks best of the rest.

HOLLYWOODBETS KENILWORTH SUMMER COURSE WEDNESDAY 10 MAY 2023
RACE 1>MOJO MAN (4) has been narrowly touched off in his last two races and the now blinker strike could be the master stroke! YAMADORI (2) is a nicely bred Lancaster Bomber colt who is related to Pinkerton – he could go close in this field on debut. BARNBOUGLE (7) is well tried but is the place value for the trifecta.
RACE 2>LINDBERGH (6) tries 1400m which could be exactly what he needs and more. Stable rider Richard Fourie now gets the ride and despite returning from a 13-week rest, he can race fresh and get it all right this time. The main danger is DIAMOND ROCK (9) who showed improvement at only the second time of asking – he has a big chance. ZOOMIE (3) I thought, would have won by now but his form is solid and he should as usual make his presence felt – each way claims.
RACE 3>ROYALS (13) does have a deep draw to overcome but will be in the very capable and in-form hands of Keagan De Melo again. She has run to some talented and progressive individuals and has a very strong winning chance. QUICK TRIP (6) let the side down last time after showing some good efforts – if she returns to the form of her penultimate run, she will be right there and have an attractive chance. MIRACLE IN MOTION (2) was a R700 000 yearling and she could be way better than this field – watch the market trends with her.
RACE 4> TRIVIAL MATTER (1) relishes this course and distance and is slightly better off at the weights with Bluff On Bluff on their last meeting – he has a strong win chance. DEAN STREET (2) races fresh and won a gutsy race last time. He clearly has some ability and it would be no shock if he were to follow up. BLUFF ON BLUFF (6) ran on powerfully last time to win and is a must for most bets. PIROSHKA (3) is the value for the places.
RACE 5>SHE’S MY CAPTAIN (2) showed plenty speed last time to go on and win – she runs for Richard Fourie and they can win again. The yard is in form too. TUSCAN GOLD (3) ran a cracker to finish second over the course and distance 4 weeks ago and is one for the shortlist and PALO QUEEN (9) is taking time to win again but is holding consistent recent form – big runner.
RACE 6>  BONIKA (3) is seldom too far off the action and is threatening to get it all right soon. She drops back in trip to 1200m and must be given serious consideration for the win position. QUEEN OF SPARTA (6) raced handy last time and nearly got it all right in a thrilling finish – another huge effort can be expected from her – respect and include. SPYWING (5) rises in class now but has been there and thereabouts recently –
RACE 7>DISTANT WINTER (2) ran on powerfully to win last time and can follow up. FUTURE VARIETY (6) the stable mate can give plenty cheek – she fought on well to win last time and the form line has been franked – bright chance and ELUSIVE WINTER (8) caught the eye when making a winning debut 4 weeks ago, he should have come on from that run and can finish in the first four here – he could end up being absolutely anything.
RACE 8>DISTANT WINTER (2) ran on powerfully to win last time and can follow up.

RACE 7 FEAUTURE 2YO’S # Battle of the Sexes in today’s Juvenile Feature at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth
The R200 000 Winter Nursery (Gr 3) over 1100m tops the bill at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this afternoon and a small but high quality field will face the starter at 16:05. Interestingly, five fillies take on four colts and geldings and a battle royale can be expected between the sexes.
History has taught us never to get too carried away with debut performances by juveniles that may appear hugely impressive at the time. Very often these horses then disappoint in subsequent starts, but I have to admit that I was “blown away” by Baltic Secret’s runaway victory in fast time towards the end of last month.
Baltic Secret was allowed to drift from 6/1 to 12/1 on debut but she stamped her authority on the race within a few strides. With some useful sorts trailing in her wake, the daughter of Querari – owned and bred by the Maine Chance Farms – drew further clear as the race went on and was more than three lengths ahead of stable companion Flying V at the line. Time will tell just how the well form line will stand up, but Baltic Secret stopped the clock a full second faster than Musical Arts who won the previous race that day over the same course and distance and she could hardly have been more impressive.
Richard Fourie retains the ride for the Snaith team and the extra 100m of today’s race should not pose any problems.
Candice Bass-Robinson is well represented by two very smart fillies in the making. The very well-bred Trippi filly, October Morn, landed something of a betting coup when trotting up over today’s course and distance at the second time of asking and looks set for a bright future. Craig Zackey is once again in the saddle and the combination should make a bold bid for top honours. Stable companion, Distant Winter, was runner-up in two Feature events before shedding her maiden ticket about a month ago. Starting at 4/10, Distant Winter did not win as easily as expected but Bass-Robinson reported that her work coming into that race had been interrupted and suggested that there was a lot more improvement to come.
But while both October Morn and Distant Winter must have undeniable chances of lifting the trophy today, it’s worth noting that stable jockey, Also Domeyer, has taken the ride on the Var colt Future Variety. Now that might be because Domeyer cannot comfortably make the weight on the two fillies, but there can be no doubting that Future Variety has plenty of upside. He won his maiden over 1200m in his second start beating subsequent winner Monumental in a driving finish. Future Variety appears to have loads of scope but whether stepping back in trip will be to his liking remains to be seen.
On debut Future Variety was comfortably beaten by another Snaith charge, Jewel Cat, who also takes his place in the line-up today. Jewel Cat, who has not been seen since the beginning of March, will be ridden by Kabelo Matsunyane and that is perhaps a clear indication that the son of Captain of All may struggle to match strides with Baltic Secret, as Fourie has opted to ride the latter.
Another progeny of Captain of All, Elusive Winter, is an interesting runner. Trained by Michelle Rix, Elusive Winter was an eye-catching winner on debut last month but that race lacked depth and the form has not been franked. That said, Elusive Winter could do no more than win and Rix has made no secret of the fact that she believes him to be well above average.
Vaughan Marshall sends out Dumbledore who failed by a narrow margin to beat his much vaunted stable companion Paratrooper, who was heavily supported on that occasion to make a winning debut. The fact that Dumbledore got so close to Paratrooper may have surprised Marshall but we will all learn a lot more about the beautifully-bred William Longsword gelding this afternoon.
Glen Kotzen saddles two fillies, Blue Holly and Lily Of The Nile. The latter may need a touch further based on what she has shown to date while Blue Holly should be safely held by Dumbledore on the evidence of their last run.
As I have said before, the Western Cape has an abundance of high quality juveniles and whoever wins this afternoon is clearly well above the average. On what I saw first time out, I am going to side with Baltic Secret but by no means is she a confident choice as we must have huge respect for the Bass-Robinson trio of Distant Winter, Future Variety and October Morn.
The Future Variety and Jewel Cat form lines come under the microscope earlier in the day. Mojo Man, now fitted with blinkers, could take a ton of beating in the first leg of the Bipot and Diamond Rock will be one of the leading lights in the opening leg of the Place Accumulator.

Hollywoodbets Greyville Turf Saturday 6 May 2023 –
Race 1:
8 RENAISSANCE MAN      2 FAUSTINO      5 DONQUERARI        7 LEBANESE POUND
Preview: RENAISSANCE MAN (8) has won his last two and shows tremendous speed. He could be too quick for them in this 400m dash. FAUSTINO (2) is also lightening fast and can be forgiven for his last below par effort. Expect him to be right there at the finish – bright chance. DONQUERARI (5) was close up behind the first selection two runs ago, forgive his last start and he can get into the money and LEBANESE POUND (7) although off form at the moment shows plenty of gas and could be worth including in most bets. (Warren Lenferna 8-2-5-7)

 Race 2:
 8 JURY’S OUT      10 THISISWHATITMEANS      6 CANFORD ICE      3 DR FAUSTUS
Preview: JURY’S OUT (8) has run two very attractive races thus far and if taking to the Hollywoodbets Greyville bend, then will rate the one they all have to fear the most. THISISWHATITMEANS (10) ran an absolute blinder on debut finishing second. He should go close to winning this time and should not be a maiden for too much longer, if not getting it right today. CANFORD ICE (6) showed good improvement in his second run and has a very strong place chance. DR FAUSTUS (3) finished mid field on debut up on the Highveld and has tons of scope to improve and cannot be taken lightly – quartet must. (Warren Lenferna 8-10-6-3)

 Race 3:
 4 PROFESSOR LUPIN      5 RAF’S ROCKET      7 LINKIN NAVIGATOR      3 COSMIC RHYTHM
Preview: PROFESSOR LUPIN (4) made an eye-catching debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on the 9th April and with that experience under the belt and Richard Fourie again in the saddle, rates the one they all have to peg back. RAF’S ROCKET (5) and COSMIC RHYTHM (3) are both first timers that could be absolutely anything. They have the breeding and the market trends might be the best guide. LINKIN NAVIGATOR (7) has run three solid races on the Highveld and should make his presence felt in a big way here – big runner. (Warren Lenferna 4-5-7-3)

 Race 4: .
1 MISS SHAIVI      12 SIGN OF FATE      8 KOMESANS PASSION      7 AMBER SKY .
Preview: MISS SHAIVI (1) brings solid Highveld maiden form into the race and will have strong claims. Richard Fourie rides from gate 1 – hard not to fancy! SIGN OF FATE (12) has run twice for two seconds and if overcoming the draw, can give plenty cheek to the first choice – expect a huge effort. KOMESANS PASSION (8) and AMBER SKY (7) have shown enough to warrant serious consideration for the quartet. (Warren Lenferna 1-12-8-7)

 Race 5:
3 JADE’S CABERNEIGH      6 WHEN EVENING COMES       5 FAIRY TRIPP      7 SHE CAN
Preview: JADE’S CABERNEIGH (3) is improving with each and every trip to the races and now looks cherry ripe for the maiden victory. Another top ride for bang-in-form Richard Fourie! WHEN EVENING COMES (6) showed improvement at the second time of asking and more than likely has a lot more to offer – can get much closer. FAIRY TRIPP (5) is by Trippi and could make her presence felt first time at school – watch the betting and SHE CAN (7) can finish in the money – she has shown some ability thus far. (Warren Lenferna 3-6-5-7)

 Race 6:
3 DESERT MIRACLE      1 WILLIAM ROBERTSON      8 TRIP OF FORTUNE      12 GIMME A PRINCE
Preview: DESERT MIRACLE (3) has won two out of her last three starts and very impressively, she is packed with class and ability and is selected to get her KZN Champions Season off to a winning start. WILLIAM ROBERTSON (1) looks to have been targeted and primed for this Grade 2 event and should be right there. He has won 7 races and is no slouch – big runner. TRIP OF FORTUNE (8) won on the Highveld recently and has to be taken very seriously. GIMME A PRINCE (12) and SAFE PASSAGE (6) have good form, are talented and can make their presence felt in a very exciting and tough IOS Drill Hall Stakes for 2023. (Warren Lenferna 3-1-8-12-6)

 Race 7:
7 SHANTASTIC      8 HOLD MY HAND      9 GOLDEN HOSTESS      6 CAPTAIN PEG
Preview: SHANTASTIC (7) has shown her ability in her last two attractive victories coming from off the pace to win and win cozily. She has won 4 from 8 starts and is clearly very progressive – the step to the 1600m trip should be to her liking and is therefore the confident the first choice. HOLD MY HAND (8) is only a one-time winner but recently has been knocking loudly at the door – she can be expected to run another cracker. GOLDEN HOSTESS (9) was a comfortable winner at her last start and makes plenty appeal. CAPTAIN PEG (6) is a good filly and comes from an in-form yard. She can never be ignored. (Warren Lenferna 7-8-9-6)

 Race 8:
1 DAVE THE KING      6 COUSIN CASEY      8 CHARLES DICKENS      4 ANFIELDS ROCKET
Preview: What a line up! What a race it will be! DAVE THE KING (1) thrashed the opposition over 1200m in Gauteng on the 18th April and looks set for a big run in this over the mile but it is nowhere near as easy as that – he has plenty that will give cheek. CHARLES DICKENS (8) is a super horse and will run a huge race as will COUSIN CASEY (6) Then we add ANFIELDS ROCKET (4) to the equation for what promises to be a thriller. There are others that can make their presence felt as well. Fasten your seatbelts for a cracking race. (Warren Lenferna 1-6-8-4)

 Race 9:
1 OUR EMILY      2 BONNE BOUCHE      7 STING RAY      8 ANCIENT EPIC
Preview: OUR EMILY (1) has won her last four races beautifully timed and ridden by Rachel Venniker – they are selected to continue on winning ways. BONNE BOUCHE (2) is holding form and her second career win, is very near – bright chance. STING RAY (7) is back in form and has been running on well recently – she has each way claims and ANCIENT EPIC (8) won last time and is a must for the trifecta and quartet. (Warren Lenferna 1-2-7-8)

 Race 10:
 1 BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY      2 TIRPITZ      11 ROSH KEDESH      8 SEQUOIA
Preview: BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY (1) does have a heavy weight to shoulder but gets gate 1 and Piere Strydom. He has solid form and is one of the leading lights. TIRPITZ (2) is very consistent but seems to either run second or fourth – he is as consistent as ever and should give plenty cheek – big runner. ROSH KEDESH (11) is an exciting and progressive three-year-old whom has to be respected and included in most bets. SEQUOIA (8) is the value choice for the places. (Warren Lenferna 1-2-11-8)

VAAL CLASSIC TUESDAY 2 MAY 2023
RACE 1>Preview: IRON SKY (1) has hard knocking form and is the obvious form choice. WAITFORGREENLIGHT (6) found some support on debut and showed pace before fading late so can improve and could be a threat. JOKER MAN (5) is by Vercingetorix and is a half-brother to Excellerator (Elusive Fort) who won third time out as a juvenile.
RACE 2>RED MAPLE (6) is by Silvano so is not surprisingly on the up and could rise above her 85 merit rating. CRIMSON PRINCESS (1) in consistent and just has to overcome a three point raise for her win last time. IPSO FACTO (2) beat Red Maple the last time they met over this trip by 1,35 lengths but is now 5,5kg worse off.
RACE 3>CHROME TOURMALINE (8) chased Heartlight last time after a slow start and her effort ran out of steam so she would not be a suRprise winner with a better start over a shorter trip. HEARTLIGHT (4) should enjoy the step down to 1000m having showed pace last time. ZOOM LADY (1) returns from a layoff but has some class so would not be a surprise winner. GLITTERFOX (2) has improved since the blinkers have been removed. CONTRA FISCUM (9) is by Potala Palace and is a half-sister to multiple winners Set The Standard (Linngari) and Hatta (Eightfold Path). DUENNA (10) is by promising new sire Fire Away and is a half-sister to the harD-knocking Defender Of Rights.
RACE 4>AFRAAD (4) is an honest stayer who is 3,5kg better iff with Prime Example for a 1,10 length beating.PRIME EXAMPLE (5) has won all of his last three staying starts including when staying on strongly from last over 3200m last time and he can continue to progress. MAMBO COME TESIO (8) is an improving sort who should relish staying trips.
RACE 5>MERIDIUS (3) is well drawn over a suitable trip and is coming into his own. SUPREME QUEST (2) beat Meridius by 0,25 lengths the last time they met and is 0,5kg worse off although taking weight for age into account the weight turnaround favours three-year-old Meridius even more. INDLAMU (1) can never be written off as he is full of courage and he has the beating of the aforementioned pair on formlines but there is a reversal in draw fortunes.
RACE 6>BOB’S YOUR UNCLE (1) fought back after being headed last time so looks to still be learning and can progress but he does have SOUTHERN BLAZE (3) disappointed last time from a wide draw but is now drawn well and can make amends as he is better than that. CELESTIAL CITY (2) has talent and the R7million full brother to Hawwaam looks best suited to a mile and can be dropped out as he has a good turn of foot.
RACE 7>QUEEN OF SMOKE (1) is drawn in pole over a suitable trip and the form of her last start has worked out well. NATIONAL STAR (7) ran a fine race last week over this trip from a wide draw at Turffontein Inside and can repeat the feat from a tricky draw. ADMIRE ME (2) is full of ability and has her first run for a new yard over a trip that is on the sharp side but her strong finish will enable her to be dropped out from a tough draw.
RACE 8>RADU (3) is by promising sire Rabada and is on the up. LUNAR BALLADE (4) beat a fair sort last time over 1600m and is not badly drawn here. QUEEN BOMI (1) had some fine form over 1600m at this time last year and made a fair recent comeback after an eight month layoff.

HOLLYWOODBETS DURBANVILLE TUESDAY 14 MARCH 2023
R-1> DOUBLE GRAND SLAM (3) caught the eye when making a pleasing debut – she should have learnt a lot from that race and is selected to go very close to winning. NILE THE BOSS (9) has a bit of an awkward draw to overcome. She was staying on well first up and the stable is in mustard form – big runner. QUICK TRIP (4) could do well on debut. She has the breeding to be anything. (
R-2>SNOW PILOT (11) is out of Snowdance and made a very attractive debut. She is drawn quite deep but again will be in the very capable hands of Richard Fourie. She could go on to bigger and better things and might well have the ability to overcome the draw – winning selection. In saying that, plenty of cheek can be expected from ZOOMIE (7) whom has had more racing experience and is drawn a little kinder. Her last run was huge and she is a big runner in this – she shows smart acceleration. TAKE A MULLIGAN (4) could do well on debut
R-3> RUN FOR ME (11) absolutely flew to nearly win last time – he has strong each way claims. Richard Fourie unsurprisingly retains the ride! MIGHTY MAC (3) was close up last time with Run For Me in the race won by Katsu – he has a bright winning chance. NUMZAAN (9) and LAUGHING WILLIAM (10) are the value choices for the places.
R-4>ZIPPY OVER (5) more than likely just needed her comeback run but nevertheless ran her socks off – the form has been franked and she can go one better. The blinkers are helping! SOFT TOUCH (2) is a tad erratic but has the form to be competitive here. The maiden SUPREME DREAM (3) should earn again – a must for the quartet.
R-5>VIRGINIA SWEET (3) ran on well last time and can go one better. DOUBLING UP (5) is doing okay since winning her maiden and must be taken very seriously here – strong each way chance and ELEGANT NOBLE (4) won his maiden 22 days ago and might well be able to make his presence felt first time in open company.
R-6> VERONIQUE (6) has solid overall form and her last effort (which was not shocking) can be forgiven. Stable mate FLY TO RIO (8) is in a rich vein of form and can give plenty of cheek – if the result were to be an Ennion exacta, it would be no shock at all. TRIP TO BARBERTON (9) could relish the first time blinkers and must be respected and include and THE AGENTS MUSE (5) is a must for the quartet – she won her maiden cozily.
R-7>VELDSKOEN (12) will have a bright chance if overcoming the draw. WINTER PEARL (10) is seldom far off the action and has to be taken seriously here and could represent some value if placing. FORT RED (7) is running well and one for the shortlist – a huge run can be expected.

WOLVERHAMPTON MARCH 11
R-1>Interesting Tapeta acts differently to Poly or fibresand after rain harrowing depths,??? looks a fast race whatever, If Missing you wasnt Drawn 1) I hate this box at this track, if you miss the break its over usually, and wekening horses fall into you trapped on the rails, >>Wreck it Riley could sit and stalk, the last effort was easily best?? Cuban Grey also has the race set up for him but im not sure theyll come back like they usually do on this slow surface?? maybe they will maybe they wont ?? have to see, this race sets up the days pace angles. so be prepped to change
R-2> #8 Baldomero #3 Exalted Angel #2 Silkie Wilkie #4 Strong Power =12 x fcasts an ultra tough race id give 99% of the field some sort of chance im guessing here its gonna be a fast pace and it may hold up which is not guranteed?? if you fancy one go with your own hunches.

Turffontein Standside Saturday 11th March 2023
R-1>FISH EAGLE (1) is the form choice but has another low draw down the straight here and that makes it tricky by trends. PONTIAC (11) could improve on his fair debut. INSIGHTFUL (2) should finish on top of Fish Eagle on form
R-2> QUANTIFIER (2) probably needed his first start on the Highveld and if bringing his Cape Town form can go close. BRONZE SWORD (1) is starting to improve and can go close. POSITIVE ATTITUDE (3) is drawn in pole over a trip which should suit
R-3>MOVER AND SJHAKER (4) is very quick and would likely prefer 1000m but this is a quick 1100m and the drying ground should be in his favour. TEXAS RED (6) is in fine form and on the up and from a middle draw can go close. MERCANTOUR (2) is drawn on the right side by trends and has always had a touch of class. UMTHOMBO WOLWAZI (7) is talented and improving and if it goes well from a lowish draw he could be in the shake up. TROMPIE (3) is a talented sprinter but tired badly last time at Kenilworth so has issues, but if he is back to near his best he will be a contender, although he is probably at his best over the minimum trip. RAFFLES (5) is interesting stepped down in trip with blinkers on as he is capable of a strong finish.
R-4>BATTLEGROUND (9) should find this distance ideal and should be staying on styrongly. BILLY SPELLBOUND (5) might have needed his previous run and should relish this step up inn trip being by William Longsword out of useful stayer Witchcraft. JET DYNASTY (10) won well last Saturday and starts off on a reasonable merit rating of 79. AFRICAN TORRENT (4) beat Top Sail over 1800m and is now better off at the weights. TOP SAIL (3) looks to be a promising sort in the making and is distance suited but does have a tough draw.
R-5> RARATONGA ROSE (2) is capable of coming from off the pace so might be dropped out over this suitable distance. IPSO FACTOR (4) beat Raratonga Rose last time over this trip by 0,20 lengths and is now just half-a-kilogram worse off. LITTLEMARYSUNSHINE (1) has some class and should enjoy this trip but does have a wide draw.
R-6>GIMME A SHOT (5), who is officially the best weighted, was caught out in the Gauteng Fillies Guineas by the muddling pace which allowed the winner to steal a march and force her to go for home way to early, so if that did not take too much out of her she should be right there in a hopefully faster run race. ARAGOSTA (1) is talented and drawn in pole so should run on strongly. OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (2) is ideally course and distance suited and should be running on strongly if finding a good position from a tricky draw of six out of nine.
R-7> PRINCESS CALLA (2) is drawn on the right side and could mow them down late. BIG BURN’s (6) speed can help her overcome a low draw if they are disadvantageous on the day. BON VIVANT (8) keeps on progressing and a low draw did not stop her last time. ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES (4) is capable of blitzing a field in seemingly effortless fashion and will be a runner from an ideal hiigh draw by trends. SUPREME WARRIOR (1) disappointed in the Grade 1 Cape Flying but on previous form on the Highveld she can’t be ignored here.
R-8>ZEUS (2) is in good form and has a good draw. MARCHINGONTOGETHER (3) should finish on top of Zeus going on form but he prefers the going to be rain affected. ARUMUGAM (6) might have needed his last start and is capable of better because on previous form he is right up with Marchingontogether. RAISEAALLELUJAH (4) has a good record over course and distance with a win and a close second but he has a bit to do with Zeus on the grounds of their clash over this trip at The Vaal. PLATINUM SKY (5) should be able to dictate in front and is hard to ignore in his first start over a staying trip but although he is by Silvano his dam is by Captain Al was a sprinter.
R-9>KIND JUDY (5) is an ultra honest marewho doesn’t get much luck with draws and she has a good one here over a suitable trip and has a chance on some of the weight turnarounds. NAMAQUA BLOSSOM (6) is knocking on the door and looks to be a promising stayer in the making because she is still improving and she is drawn in pole. FLYING FIRST CLASS (1) is an honest stayer who has.
R-10> TAMARISK TREE (5) looks the one to beat from pole position despite officially being 2,5kg under sufferance with the best weighted Southern Song. SOUTHERN SONG (7) has a good draw and was not disgraced last time in a strong field over this trip. LIBECCIO (9), who is officially 5,5kg under sufferance with the best weighted horse, also ran a fair race last time in a seemingly strong field and can make an impact here carrying just 50kg from a good draw.

R-4>box 6-1-2 >>> the fav Denestu is well handicapped but i always think theres no way they would waste a winning ride to lose his claim for a fav at a short price? it makes no sense not many claimers will use up their claim winning on short priced horses even though this should win on the handicap so im always wary. if you want to bet the fav then go ahead it should win on ratings plus it was tipped by me last time so i maybe wrong but i stick to my shtick

R-1> Strata 10 Looks interesting more than the other debutants Dam had a ton of speed and won on debut at this course and distance, Easy Money 5/1 i like this horse to go close Flying V dam winner but much more of a miler and one to follow later, Charleston represents top form but may lack a gear although has experience Guru. 13-12-2 box
R-2>Spring Kiss – Sharapova
R-3> Shoefella -Shotgun willie
R-4>ROYAL INVITATION (9) caught the eye in her post maiden run and should go close to winning. LADY SILVANO (8) is never too far off the action and is one for the shortlist – expect a forward effort again and ALPHABETTY (3) could be absolutely anything – do not ignore.
R-5>BEREAVE (1) has solid form and rates the one they all have to beat. He goes well over this course and distance too. SUN DAZED (4) is very consistent and ran on well last time – strong chance and CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (3) was a tad unlucky last time and should be able to get much, much closer today – include in most bets.
R-6>Not an easy race – many have bright chances! LION’S HEAD (4) is my narrow first suggestion. He is taking time to win again but has dropped in the ratings as a result. His last run was good. SILVER FALCON (6) is in very good form and should be able to finish in the money again – big runner. SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (7) was making good late progress last time and is another in a wide-open race with a chance.
R-7>ROCKPOOL (10) is clearly a very smart colt in the making and his current rating of 88 could be way off. His recent wins have been super impressive and he should be even better over the 1800m trip he gets today. I am expecting him to reel off the hat trick – keep following this horse! Stable mate INNAMORARE (9) is also clearly a decent colt in the making and can give plenty of cheek to the first choice – exacta choice. AT MY COMMAND (11) has solid form and is a must for the trifecta and quartet.
R-8> READY OR NOT (1) came from the clouds last time to soar to victory. He can follow up. MUCHO DINERO (4) swept on by to win last time making it two in a row and could end up being anything – undeniable hat trick chance – big runner. COSMIC EVENT (5) should again be right there at the finish
